If you remember right I answered all of your question about 6 months ago over on the other site but you guys just didn't like the answers and just keep complaining none of you will listen to what anyone from NYSTA has to say because according to you all all we do is lie or cover everything up so no matter what we say we will always be wrong in your eyes
Well,
I can't speak for anyone else, but I had serious problems with
the way JTI chair Rockwood handled the muskrat season change
issue and tried going through normal channels to address the issue.
Rockwood,
who had always returned my phone calls in the past regarding any
issues or problems, refused to return calls, and when I finally spoke
face to face with him at the Herkimer Convention/flea market
and reported the results of that conversation on Wayne Jone's forum
and Trapperman.com, Rockwood publicly called me a liar online.
Because I continued to bring up the Muskrat Change proposal
on Wayne Jones Forum, I was permanently banned, and I was
censored on trapperman.com from making any mention of NYSTA.
NYSTA has a facebook site that I don't use as I am anti-facebook
and after nearly a year of issues regarding the NYSTA website,
we still are not utilizing it properly to keep NYSTA member trappers
informed.
We shouldn't have to pull teeth to discover when the
Board of Director's meeting are held, and we shouldn't
be accused of being anti-trappers by NYSTA Directors
and County Representatives when we take issue with
The JTI Chair when he facilitates the loss of a week
of our northern zone muskrat trapping season
without making any effort to consult northern zone
trappers.
Hiring Salvatore Lanza as our council to pursue justice
with the "Gambling Gamba" treasury clean-out debacle
has been a mistake as years of inaction have proven.
NYSTA needs to discharge him immediately, hire a new
attorney, and schedule a meeting with the Cayuga County
ADA to leverage some action on this dead in the water fiasco.
We need someone who actually believes in the value
and potential of the internet and our NYSTA website
to take the helm as Ray Nolan has proven to be
an empty chair and incompetent in his tenure being
in charge of what should be our main source of
delivering information to the membership.
I could go on, but the current atmosphere of
mistrust, and recriminations against NYSTA could
all have been avoided with timely communication,
transparency, and truthful accountability from
the NYSTA Officers, the Board Of Director's,
and the JTI Chairman.
I will say again as I have many times the past 10 years.
There is a good reason that less than 2,000 trappers
out of nearly 14,000 New York State trappers belong
to NYSTA.
NYSTA leadership needs to do some serious soul searching
and fence-mending if they want to raise their sunken ship.
All in my opinion, of course.
