Thank you. Sorry to hear of your injuries. Thirty years ago I fell off of my mother's roof while shoveling snow. Broke two ribs, bruised kidney, bruised lung, and sheared off 5 transverse processes from my spine. Thanks for the info and stay safe.

I guess nobody on this forum knows when this NYSTA Board of Director's meeting is going to happen.
I see bill1960, milkie62, and forestboy are all some kind of NYSTA official, or have some sort of NYSTA official capacity and are forum members here but have miraculously been kept out of the loop and can't inform us lowly dues paying NYSTA members when the meeting is.
I think there are also some regional reps or directors that lurk on this forum also.
Thank you all for keeping us informed so we can attend the next meeting.
You fellows once again prove our point that NYSTA leadership doesn't care about it membership.

Anyone hear any thing about the date, and time
of the NYSTA Board of Director's meeting ?
All are welcome if they can guess when the meeting is being held.
Sad, and disgusting that they are keeping it a secret.

I have not been to a BOD meeting in quite some time. If I recall the date of the next meeting is announced at the meeting, however that does not appear to being relayed back to the general membership. I am a county rep in my county, but have no idea when the next meeting will be. Usually Carmody sends out an announcement about a week ahead of time. It is true that all members are welcome to attend BOD meetings, but how are they to know when they are? At very least they should be published on the various trapping web sites. The present system is very poor. On the other hand, how many of the general membership show up? Two or three at most? How about the membership meeting at the convention, how many attend? Is it because the meeting is BORING? I have found, for me, that much of the BOD meeting is boring. There are reports I want to hear, but half of the time there isn't any. DEC does not show up much anymore,I remember the days when the directors of the bureau of wildlife and law enforcement would be present, sometimes there is a JTI report, sometimes not, and I could care less about a county group having a booth at a local potato festival or about how for years someone is monkeying around with the website. I want an honest, easy to understand Treasure's report, an update on any proposed trapping changes or threats, convention report, membership report, and eliminate all of the bullshit. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old bear sitting in the corner. And what has ever become of the Gamba deal. What has the lawyer accomplished? Just sayin

Just sayin Al the Grump Well AL, It's obvious that the NYSTA officers are monitoring this website. Bill Swagler, the Vice President is logged on here regularly, and just posted notification of the spring sportman's flea market a few hours ago, and has no doubt seen my post on his thread. It's obvious that he and others have no intention of revealing the date & time of the meeting to the general membership that we are allegedly "welcomed to attend". What are they afraid of ? I attended the last meeting and their world didn't come to an end, nor did I cause any disruption. I spoke only to Bob Hughes, who I have known for years and just listened. Due to my various health concerns, I was only able to stay for about half the meeting. How about it AL, Can you go deep under cover and find out when the NYSTA Board of Directors is holding their secret meeting that all us rank & file NYSTA members are "welcomed to attend". All in my opinion, of course. walleyed

Walleyed,
I knew that your attendance at the last BOD meeting is exactly as you described; Bob Hughes told me. Bob is one of my best friends, we have hunted deer together in NY and Pa. for the past 35 years. My Regional Director was not at the last meeting, so I got no other info other than what Bob told me. Bob is in Florida now, so I can't get any info from him. I do expect a meeting in February, but that is only my guess. If I get an E Mail from Carmody I'll let you guys know.

I believe they are quarterly meetings, and as there was one in January, I would assume the next one would be in April sometime. For a meeting that we are all welcome and even encouraged to attend it is ridiculously difficult to find information on when to show up.

Did you happen to see minutes from this meeting, or talk to someone who attended the meeting. Was there any thing on the NYSTA facebook site ? I don't know because I don't do facebook. AL WEST said he didn't think there was a January meeting. There was no notice to membership of a January meeting date on the NYSTA website and they didn't use our e-mail addresses that they have been hounding us for so they could "keep us informed". LMAO !!! It's all B.S, as NYSTA has no intention of keeping it's dues paying membership informed of what they are doing with our dues money other than using it for Dave Miller's permanent retirement account and Gambling Dale Gamba's casino cache. All in my opinion, of course. walleyed

As far as I know they had that meeting. I believe that is when the May gun show plans were approved. I only know anything about it because our fur auction was the next day and Bob Hughs was late and someone said that he never showed up to the meeting yesterday. To which I said What meeting was that? The reply was the NYSTA meeting. It was the first and only mention of that meeting that I have heard of, no minutes posted, no report of anything regarding it anywhere.
I my opinion if they are going to do the gun show in may they should include a membership meeting of some sort with it.
As for the regular BOD meetings, If they insist on calling it a BOD meeting and don't notify membership of when and where they are held They have NO STANDING to criticize members for not showing up.
How many groups, businesses ect have there BOD meeting open to all who want to attend? Practically none, thats why they are called BOD meetings. If they want members to attend they need to let us know when and where they will be held at a minimum.
